I find that having insomnia is a terrible thing to deal with. I try and try to put myself to sleep but no matter how hard I empty my mind and not focus on anything - just literally inflicting free thinking - to fall asleep, I cannot. So I log on to the computer, space out while browsing through tumblr, watch the number of online people in Facebook decrease, and try to make my eyes tired. So then my eyes get tired and my back aches, but I still do not feel sleepy! This is just a horrible condition, having such a messed up body clock. I have tried drinking chamomile tea because I have read that it makes people sleepy, in fact, I’ve tried Celestial’s Sleepytime tea but it does not work (it actually makes me even more awake, I think, because of the spearmint content) to exercising before going to bed (which also doesn’t work because I’d get all sweaty and it makes me want to take a bath so then I’d be more awake) and now I have resorted to taking Sleepasil. Well, I like it because it’s supposedly organic stuff (it takes like tea leaves!) and I remember my mom taking this before but she’d open up the pill and mix it in water, like real tea, and it does work. Puts me to sleep in just about half an hour, that is, I just have to be in bed already, otherwise my insomnia will just kick the sleepiness away in the ass. It makes my mornings a bit nicer too, because I wake up without the groggy feeling. A pretty good pill if you ask me.
I’m going to stop taking this when school’s back. Not because it’s a bad drug, but being in school for the day makes me really tired and sleepy when I get back home so I have no trouble sleeping.
